As a big thank you to all my 2010 clients I wanted to have a little contest! The images below are favs from each paid session I had this year. Mini sessions, free portfolio building sessions, and weddings were not included in this contest. And as much as I love them I left my kids, and my brother's kiddos out on this one. Keepin' it fair!

Some of theses I didn't even have to look for my fav, I knew it by heart, and some of them I had it narrowed down to 2 and went back and forth back and forth! Then there were a couple that I could have posted the whole session! So while it may not be your fav image from your session it is my fav! Please be kind and don't ask me to switch images. :)

Well hello everyone! I have officially been missing for a few weeks! The excitement of Christmas and the rush to get orders edited and filled for the holidays left me no time for blogging! So I will be revisiting a few sessions that have not yet been blogged. You may have seen a sneak or two of these on my facebook, and if not you should really join my facebook page... ;)

These three adorable kiddos had some Christmas made! Mom had them dressed so cute, and they seriously know how to sport the style! Little Man here was so stinkin cute, and he is missing a few teeth, which was oh so adorable in pics! I loved that, but he was not thrilled about showcasing his lack of teeth, so I would not dare share the precious toothless grin with you. You are just going to have to trust me that it was adorable!

While I have you here I want to let you know that I have BIG plans for 2011. Starting now in Jan with some Valentines day mini sessions that will not only get you some cute, custom images, but you will also have the chance to give back just by purchasing the mini session! Yay for good friends and fun sessions! Best thing about his session aside from the awesome family, and great evening light? Hitting Cracker Barrel with them afterwards and they didn't even laugh at us when we had to take our kiddos to the bathroom 5 (umhmm) times!!

My fall has been super busy and packed with sessions. The Morgan family came on the absolute BEST day for fall color. Some awesome color out here!

And yes all you fellow photographers out there, be jealous of my backyard location ;)

Meet precious baby Dennalyn. She is the daughter of one of my oldest friends (not that we are old!) Kallie and I grew up in church together, and I can't remember not knowing her. We probably got into a little mischief together as kiddos. Like maybe when Kallie and another church friend stuffed me into the ceiling to hide me from our Sunday school teacher, then replaced the tile. Yeah. Good times. lol

Who would have thought a few years later we would have our own children who will be growing up together in the same church, and hopefully not going to the extreme measures we did just to trick our Sunday school teacher! ;)

I am so happy for Kallie and her husband! Her love for her sweet baby girl really shines, and she is a awesome Momma to both of her children! Congrats you guys!

Tim and Jerran {Sept 25th wedding} Stanford KY

So, I have had this wedding edited and ready to go for a couple days now, but I just could not decide what to blog! So I have decided to blog just a few images,and then hopefully I will share a slide show in the next day or two.

Tim and Jerran tied the knot in Stanford Ky on Sept 25th 2010. Originally when Jerran first contacted me, they were just going to have a small wedding and no reception, but at the persuasion of their family members they did decided to go ahead and have a small reception afterwards, and I am so glad they did! Some of my favorite shots are always captured at reception!

I have known both Tim and Jerran for a long time now, and I think they make a perfect couple. Jerran has always been one of the funniest and sweetest girls I know. I love her laugh! I was thrilled when she booked her wedding with me, because I knew it would be fun and that I would have the opportunity to capture her awesome personality! I was right. She shined all afternoon, long! she looked stunning in her dress, and both she and Tim were perfectly relaxed and willing to be themselves in front of the camera.

Thank you both for allowing me to share your special day. I wish you many years of love and happiness!

I love it when kiddos come back again and again and I get to watch them grow in pictures. I always go back and look at their past sessions just to see how much they have changed! And boy, have these two changed, especially little "A"! He was just a tiny baby at last years session, and now he is a adorable, and smiling 1-year old! And even though I see these two often I hadn't realized how tall "L" had gotten!

I LOVE fall! It is by fall my favorite time of the year (even though it makes my allergies go crazy!) It's so fleeting, and I love capturing the awesome colors so when its the dead of winter I can come back and look at the beautiful colors!

Haley's Mom contacted me wanting to know if we could get a few images of her with her Pap Paw's truck. Of course I said yes! A beautiful girl+ a old pick-up = happy photographer! Oh, and who can resist a shot or two of a dog with a bow!

This was a fun and laid back session! Haley is seriously one of the sweetest girls I know. Not to mention that she has some serious style, just check out that red dress!

This sweet gal just could not wait to meet her Mommy and Daddy! She made her entrance a little early, and by the time she came to see me she was already 6 weeks old, but a tiny 6lbs. She was a super alert, and strong little girl for her size though!

This little 1 year old birthday boy was the cutest! I love all his little facial expressions! I usually share a lot of b&w but the colors outside are already turning and I had to share them!

We tried a little cake smash at the end of his session, but 1 little taste was all he wanted! I thought about sitting down and eating cake with him, but I wasn't sure how well that would go over! ;)

I was so excited to be able to photograph little Miss A. Her Mom and Dad are old (not calling you guys old) college friends of my husbands, and I was tickled when they drove down from Lexington for A's 6 month session.

I loved her little Halloween costume, and she was seriously the cutest bee I have ever seen! So when her Dad called to make the appointment he did not give me his name at first. He just asked if he could set up a session for his bulldogs. And I was falling for it hook, line, and sinker. Then he asked if we could dress the dogs up. I asked for his e-mail and even though his e-mail address had his name it I STILL didn't catch on. Lol. So, I'm going to say she is most definitely making a "daddy" face in the last picture. He he.

Check it out! Pics of my boy child! I snatched him up and just the two of us set out! Not often that happens, and let me tell you, when I get him all to myself he talks my leg off! And tells me he loves me every 15 seconds (which is fine by me!) Having 3 little ones, it's not often I get the chance to spend time with one of them without the others around, so this half an hour or so was nice!

I shared the color version of this first image on my facebook, so I thought I could just share the b&w here, although I do really love the color one, I actually like it best, but my husband preferred the black and white. Be sure to check out the color one on facebook!

I discovered some amazing light in my Dad's junkie barn (sorry Dad) of all places! Now my little man is not easily directed when it comes to being photographed, so he was not exactly where I would have placed him in the first barn one, but the light is still awesome! Who would have thought such amazing light would be hiding in Dad's old barn!?!

Now, go ahead and tell me he is precious. ;)

1 week old | central Ky newborn photography

Meet sweet little Jansen! He is the first "real" newborn I have professionally photographed. (other than my own) I have photographed babies that were 3-4wks old but never a itty bitty newborn. Jansen had only been in our world for a week when he came to visit me! Which is the perfect age to photograph a litte one for those sweet, sleepy shots! *hint, hint*

He broke me in easy! Little guy was happily awake for only a few minutes, and then snoozed for the rest of the session! He never uttered a whimper at all. Even when I would pick him up to snuggle...uhh I mean repose him. ;) Plus, he is absolutely adorable! It never ceases to amaze me how perfectly wonderful a newborn baby is.

Thank you to his Momma for letting me use him as my tiniest model yet! Enjoy!

This is the sweet, and seriously cute, Merrick family. I had the privilege of getting to meet and photograph them after we were paired together through Littlest Hero's. Boy was it hot the day of our session!

They have three beautiful daughters. The oldest M was a great little helper giving me all kinds of awesome suggestions for pictures. ;) O. had so many adorable facial expressions, and I think I caught about 10 different expressions on camera! Both girls were a absolute delight to work with!

Miss Gabby, their youngest daughter, is their Littlest Hero. Gabby was born with Down Syndrome and Av canal defect. After open heart surgery at 4 months old, little Gabby had some complications and, her parents and sisters had to say goodbye to her. Gabby loved to smile, hold her toys, listen to her sisters sing, and take naps with the cats who would curl up on the bed next to her.

Mom wants you to know that Down Syndrome is not the scary thing that people think it is. A little paragraph from Mom's blog speaks it best....

"The phone rang and I heard the words, "Your baby has Down syndrome." Life changed. At first, I thought it was changing for the worse. Now, I know what a blessing those words were. I will FOREVER be the mother of a child with Down syndrome, and I believe that is a blessing. "

I agree. I never even meet Gabby and she has been a blessing to me as well.

This is the third year I have photographed this awesome family. I love it when you can watch the families grow in pictures, and let me tell you these boys have sprouted since last year! Crazy how much a kid can grow in a years time! We changed things up a bit and held the session at their home this year. Mom had planned to paint the barn soon, but I was thrilled that they had not painted it yet!

It was a fun little session with them, and even more fun was the campfire my own family enjoyed with them afterwards! My kiddos had a blast with their buddies, and I am forever grateful that they introduced us to "firepies" YUM!!

I had the pleasure of photographing Morgan and her family last week. She just turned 3, so happy Birthday to her! With permission from her Mom,I am going to share just a little bit about Miss Morgan. She was born, a tiny miracle, at 1lb 3oz and 4 months premature. She has a rare chromosome disorder called Emanuel Syndrome, and little Morgan is having open heart surgery tomorrow.

She is one very loved child! She seemed to be extra fond of her big brother, (who is obviously crazy about her) and enjoyed when he and Mom sang to her! Truly she was a joy to photograph!

I really wanted to get this sneak peek up tonight so that if Morgan crosses your mind tomorrow you can say a little prayer for her, her family, and her doctors.

I love seeing the different personalities of little ones, and little Miss A. here cracked me up! She just keep hopping around, and falling off the couch! (on purpose) She has some really cute facial expressions too! Big Sister M. is just a sweetie pie, and she didn't seem to mind poseing for the camera at all!

I can NOT believe that Jarred is a senior. Do HUH? How did that happen? I used to hear "old people" say this kind of stuff....does that make me old? lol.

Jarred is my little cousin. My handsome little cousin! I used to babysit him and his older brother all the time. Oh the things I could tell you about him! Like the fact that I would lay him down for a nap, and sneak in to watch him carry on a full conversation with his dresser. Or that at age 3 he told me to "quit procrastinating and get me off this fence!" Or that I used to love to snuggle with him at nap time, and can remember waking him up from his nap at granny's once (or twice) just so I could rock him back to sleep (sorry Sissy!) But I won't tell you those things and embarrass him. ;)

Seriously, he has got to be one of the funniest, and funnest people to be around. I bet anyone who knows him will tell you the same. The kid is a hoot! My guess is he is definitely the class clown!

And I will spare you the fact that we had to stand the stench of a loooong dead dog just to get pics at one of these locations....eww. Or maybe I'll just tell you ;) Oh the things we do for a good location! Forgive my ramblings....it is nearly 1:00am! Ha! Enjoy!!

I think I could have blogged every single picture from this session! The 6 month old sweetie here was a champ! It was not to long a ago that I photographed her older sister in the same overalls!

The location on her family's farm was awesome! Loved it so much I'm going to take my boy there soon! ;) Of course we have some more rufflebutt shots, which you all know I love! Another shout out to Rufflebutts!!

My big girl turned 5 last week! I just can't beleive that 5 years ago we were blessed with a sweet, little, hairy (ha) baby girl! It has been 5 years full of fun, laughter,and spunk!

The last 2 pictures were taken before her "Taylor Swift rockstar" party, (compleate with karoke!) She is sporting a super cute Taylor Swift skirt and hairbow, which she loved! The rest of the photos were taken yesterday. As usal Lilly loves to pose for me,and she cracks me up withher....creativity. ;)

Thank you Lillybug for making your Daddy and I parents! We love to the moon and back!

Oh, and Taylor, just in case you are reading this (yeah right!) Lilly may give you a run for your money in a few years!

I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet family last week. Due to a couple sick kiddos, and a clingy baby, I am just now getting the sneak peek up! Thankfully everyone is feeling better in our house!

I love on location shoots! I love photographing families, and children in places that have meaning to them! My hope is that these little ones will look back on these photographs and tell their own children "I used to love to play here!" or "this is where I grew up!"

Last week I had the privilege of meeting up with this awesome family! Momma and I were track stars together, back in the day! (don't doubt it, we were stars!) I love doing on location work, and trying out new places! These were all shot on her family's farm! We also bummed a couple props out of "Mamaw's house!

Honestly, this shoot was so much fun! The little guys were great! Little Jack and I became buddies! I got to see how much he loves his yellow rain boots. I even got to play "Lighting McQueen" and say "KACHOW!!" 15 times! As for little brother, he was getting quite sleepy, but you would have never known it! He just keep right on smiling!

Our local middle school is putting on "Alice in Wonderland" I did some head shots of "Alice" a few weeks ago for the play program. Then I got to do the head shots for this guy! He is either "Tweedle Dee" or "Tweedle Dum" (forgive me for not remembering Josh!)

While they were here we decided to take a few shots of little sister too!

Dance baby dance! {Stanford Ky photographer}

I made a slide show for Steppin' Out Dance studio, and it was shown before the girls spring recital. Basically I went in one afternoon and took some shots of the girls as they practiced. Want to challenge yourself as a photographer? Give this a try!

The dance studio is very nice, but pretty small, especially considering I was working with a 50mm lens and there was not much natural light. So, making the best of a not so ideal situation, (lighting wise) I used what natural light I had, and bounced my flash for the rest.

I will say I really enjoyed the experience of getting to photograph so many darling little girls, and some very talented older girls! It took me a back a couple (cough) years to hang out with the groups of older teens and listen to their chit chat! I also enjoyed my little peak behind the scenes of what goes on at practices, and this was what I tried to capture for the slide show, the things we as parents, don't really get to see! Not portraits, but just this little moment in the lives of our girls!

So I have decided to share just a couple pictures from the slide show, and of course one, never before seen, studio picture of my own little ballerina. Go ahead, tell me she's cute! :) Enjoy!

I won't share the whole story that goes with these pictures, but basically our friends fell in love with this little girl while they were on a mission trip at a orphanage in Hatti. It was obvious by talking to our friends that they were crazy about her! Then came the horrible quake. And our friends started looking into bringing this sweet little girl home.

Another couple from the same church got to bring home a different little girl from the same orphanage a few weeks ago, but our friends were not able to bring heir own sweet girl back, instead her new Daddy had to come back home empty handed. I can only imagine how hard that must have been, not only on our friends, but on Kesna.

Well, another trip, a few weeks, and many many prayers later, they were able to bring her to her new home! I was so glad to be able to be at their homecoming party at their church, and to have the opportunity to capture this special time for them!

How precious these two little girls are! How lucky they are to have such wonderful and loving parents, and how blessed those parents are to have them!!

It warmed my heart to read this on the new, proud Momma's facebook tonight "when we got home she was so excited to see HER room and HER clothes. She rolled around in the bed and contiued to say in Creole "Praise the Lord!!" then she sat down on the couch and said "Kesna American!"

I agree Kesna! Praise the Lord, and welcome to America!

Large share!! I am not even done with all of these yet, but I could not resist to post a few! This is my Lilly bug and her best friend Aidan. They meet when they were 2 at story hour and have been buddies ever since. I am so thankful that they did meet, and Aidan's mom and I have become great friends too! It's also a plus that Aidan's little brother is Brody's age!

The girls take dance together and last minute today we decided to load them up and haul them out to my Dad's farm to take some pictures of them in their adorable recital outfits. So off we went with 3 kids in tow (I'm not that crazy I left my other two at home with Daddy!) carrying kids in ballet slippers through the woods!

I was tickled with the way these turned out! I hope Lilly and Aidan continue to be great friends and that they have these pictures to look back on one day! Enjoy!

This may go down as my fav session thus far! The pictures all turned out so sweet that I had a time trying to decide which to blog about. Oh and 4 has got to be the funnest age to photograph!

We officially meet Miss E. at food allergy camp in 2008. Lilly and Miss E became fast buddies, and Lilly is only a day older than her. I was thrilled when her Momma decided to make the 2 hour drive to have her pictures made,and hang out with us for a while. We did a few shots at Millennium park and then ventured on back to my home studio for some more shots and a little play date!

E. is so sweet, and I enjoyed editing her session and seeing all of her facial expressions! Such personality! We enjoyed your company guys!

and not just some chick that like to take pictures and hopefully make a little money along the way. Story behind the pics, my son Brody just turned 3. I adore this little fellow. I will be honest and say sometimes he can be quite a hand full. No he is not a bad kid, he is a smart little thing. He knows how to push my buttons. He knows what he wants and he will fight till the bitter end to get it. Not really a bad quality to have, but it sure does wear a Momma out!

Now, for the past week or so he has been resisting nap time and bedtime with all he has. I am talking BIG TIME. Because of this struggling, and the fact that I also have two other children to get down for naps, and dance practice to get to on time, he missed his nap today. Which anyone with young children knows, makes matters even worse. I finally just gave up after two hours.

Tonight at bedtime his Daddy and I had a HUGE talk with him. Then my husband was off to play ball with some friends (he is so in trouble when he gets home lol) I made sure he went potty. Gave him his blankie, a book, that the hall light was on, his favorite nighttime CD in, ect. And lovingly tucked him into bed with kisses and cuddles. And silently told God that I was good on the patience thing and that *I* did not need any practice. Obviously God thought different.

Before I was even out of his room, he got up. And so the night goes. I took away his book, his toy, and put him back to bed 26 times. Yes, I counted. He screamed, he cried, but finally the 26th time was the charm. And after 10 minutes of silence I tiptoed back to his room to check on him, and there he was cuddled up with his blankie and making those little sobs (you know, the ones that break your heart) in his sleep.

So after all that work, I risked waking him up by grabbing my camera and my speedlight, and taking several shots of my sweet baby boy sleeping. That is it, that is the moment I knew I was a REAL photographer, a crazy one. Crazy enough to take a chance on waking him up, just to capture the memories of tonight's bedtime struggle. And now, for the pics.

Lilly's 2nd modeling gig

Using Lilly as our model (which she loves) I have done a couple shoots for Handmaidens Cottage. She makes the cutest things, and we love her little girls' dresses and skirts. Lilly loved this dress so much that when it arrived in the mail she immediately had to put it on. Then I had to wrestle her out of it, and explain that, "No, you can not wear the pretty dress to bed even if you are a princess..."

The couple of shoots I have done for Handmaidens Cottage have been so fun for me! I kind of get to step back a little bit and focus on photographing the clothes instead of the person. I get to challenge myself, trying to decide which hairstyle will showcase each dress/skirt the best, what background compliments the product.

As far as the poses go, Lilly is truly a little model. She requires little, if any, direction from me. She just does her thing, which is sometimes funny, but usually produces great results.

The sunlight was streaming through my kitchen door today. I walked by it and thought to myself "Man, that is some great light." but I resisted the urge to grab little Miss Darcy Kate and do some pics because she was getting pretty sleepy.

Then I walked by it again....these were the result! My very own sweetie pie on a antique quilt. As a lover of old quilts, and obviously a lover of babies, I really liked the result of our quick shoot! Darcy did not mind either. She feel asleep mid shoot!

First of all, happy 3rd birthday to my big boy! He turned 3 on the 23rd. Crazy!

As I was browsing the cereal aisle the other day the box of Kix cereal caught my eye. As most of us allergy Mom's do, I picked it up, turned it over, and began reading the ingredient label. There are a few cereals by GM that my kiddos can eat, and cross contaimation with GM has not been a issue for us, so I thought it was worth a peak. Guess what? Top 8 free according to the box.
So this morning my kiddos had Kix and rice milk for breakfast. Brody LOVED them! I swear he carried the box around all day long!

Now, I know my food allergy buddies can relate to the joy of finding a new safe food! Enjoy Brody's joy captured in pics!

Seriously?? Ok, life with a newborn a almost 3 year old, and a 4 year old has been fun, but busy! Making trips twice a week for allergy shots for the older kids, plus doctor visits for myself and the baby keeps me beyond busy! My computer time has been limited, but everyone is sleeping now so I thought it would be a wonderful time to update my blog!!

I'll add a few pictures of Miss Darcy Kate. These were the pictures I took of her in the hospital at 1 day old. Many of you have seen these already, but I can't leave her out of the blog! She is 6 weeks old now, and it is true, time flies.

Since I am a natural light photographer, and my studio is in the garage, I have not taken any other pro pics of Darcy Kate yet. Let me tell you my camera is screaming at me to take some but I just can't bring myself to strip a 6 wk old down to her diaper is 7 degree weather. Nope, nope. Hurry up spring!

I am shooting again after enjoying a few weeks with the baby. I have pink, red, and white backdrops ready for Valentines Day, so just drop me a e-mail!

Happy 1st Birthday to this little guy! He is such a cutie pie, that I had a really hard time just adding a few pictures of this session to the blog. Cute kid + awesome fall colors= delighted photographer! I am telling you, I am going to be so sad when all the leaves fall off the trees and everything turns brown. But my guess is the crazy winds out there are going to take the majority of leaves off tonight. Sigh.

Mom and Dad played a big part in trying to get their son to look at the camera. I made them promise not to tell anyone what a goof I am when trying to get the attention of a child, so I won't tell you how silly they were dancing and singing...oops!

Meet Sam. He is my little cousin, and my 4 year old daughters first crush. A couple months ago we saw Sam at Wal-mart and after we finished talking to him and went on our way, Lilly announced "Sam is soooo cool. I think I love him." I got a good giggle out of that coming from a 4 year old. Then Monday Sam came to have his senior pictures made, and after he left Lilly says "I am going to marry Sam because he is the one I love." So there ya go buddy, she loves you! lol.

OK, enough about silly Lilly. We could not have timed this session any better. The fall colors were at their best Monday. It is absolutely beautiful back here! Sadly, the color will fade in a few days. We had a good time letting Sam just be himself and capturing that! This is just a sample of what we shot, and I am not even done editing them yet, I just ran through a pulled out a few to post on the blog.

Sweet little baby "O" is not a baby anymore, he is turning 1!! Happy Birthday buddy!

"O" is the son of my cousin, and although I knew he looked a lot like his Daddy, I was struck by how much he actually did when I was doing this session. Funny how when something fills the frame of your camera you really study it in a way you normally would not. It was almost like looking at a little Josh!

We are starting to see a little bit of fall color in these pictures, which reminds me....my annual fall special will be coming up. Dates for that are Sept 25th &26th and Oct 8th-11th. A few weeks ago I had the honor of photographing the wedding of a couple that I went to high school with. I am finishing up the editing on that wedding tonight, but I just could not wait to share this image.

Right before the ceremony I heard a older gentleman talking fondly about the bride. "I used to take her out with me when she was just this high!" he said to another man. He had such pride on his face! I could not help but to steal glances at this man during the wedding ceremony, and you could tell he was watching that little girl with such love!

After the wedding was over and the couple were standing in their receiving line, the gentleman came through and she gave him a hug! Turns out he was her grandfather! It is obvious that she is special in his eyes, and he means a lot to her. Their hug lasted long enough for me to get several shots of them together. This one was by far my fav! Brought a tiny tear to my eye! I hope you like it too!

After finally getting pictures of Brody the other day ( I thought I would try to get a good picture of Lilly with her constant companion "Puppy." He has been attached to her hip since she was 9 months old, and has helped her through the ER a few times.

Today, little Lilly was sick. Poor little gal must have a stomach virus of some sort. So her and Puppy hung out on the couch or in her bed all day. It was a good chance for getting pictures of what Puppy does best! Enjoy!

Stop what you are doing right now, and stare in shock! Yes, that is Brody, my sweet little 2 year old. You know, the one I can never get pictures of?

I put on my brave suit and headed out with him this morning, bribing big sister with a sucker so she would stay out of the pictures. One thing about Brody, he is not a huge fan of Mommy snapping pictures of him. He will look up, down, anywhere but at me. I pulled all the tricks, and the only thing that worked was when I pretended to cry, hence the big laugh in the first image.

When I first looked at these pictures I was not thrilled. Then I was reminded that maybe my expectations of myself as a photographer, and my expectations of my newly 2 year old were a little high. I decided to step back and look at these as "Mommy" not as "the photographer" and I fell in love with the pictures shown here. So, enjoy the pictures of my sweet baby boy!

I promised them that if they goofed of during our session, that I would share the outtakes with the world. I hold true to my promises. Boy did they goof. Sloppy kisses, silly faces, and middle brother even answered his cell phone mid shoot! We had a great time though, and baby brother posed wonderfully throughout it all!

Quite often I do show funny outtakes to clients. Personally I love the silly pictures that capture people just being who they really are! The last few pictures here do just that!

The two older boys were my very first "subjects" when they were small. They love to tease me about making them pose shirtless in a tree (they were cute pictures OK?!?) I also have a pack of snapshots of them where apparently I made them change clothes 10 times! Sorry I have tortured you for year boys, but you sure are cute!

Tornado!

We were out, like many others taking in the damage that the recent tornado in our county has caused, and I brought along my camera to snap a few photos. Pictures #4 and 5 were actually a mobile home. The metal frame of the home was about 30 feet from where the home once was, and the rest of it was scattered out in a nearby field.

There were quite a few barns down, and major damage to other homes. Thankfully there were no serious injuries reported. I truly believe that God had his hand on the people of this county Friday afternoon. A elderly man, that is a old friend of the family, lives right in the path that the tornado decided to take. You can see the destruction where it came down a hill, over some mobile homes, damaging, and destroying them. It then headed to the mans barn and flattened it, but seemed, by surveying the destruction, to just lift up right before hitting his home. Amazing.

To those of you who have damaged property, or have lost your homes, our prayers are with you.

Recent Easter session

Bunnies? Baby chicks? Lambs? Nope, not in my studio! Try a gals' best friend, her cute little Chihuahua. I was thrilled to be able to finally have a older child in my studio! Miss "K" is 8, and cute as a button. Her sweet little puppy is named Lily, and the poor little thing had a reaction to her shots earlier that day. She was pretty sore, but posed beautifully for a few pictures. To prove these are actually Easter pictures, we threw in the Easter basket in the last shot.

A matter of "style"

I am editing a couple sessions from this weekend, and stumbled across these images.

We were trying so hard to get the little guy to grab his toes and look my direction. However, he preferred to grab them, and then roll away from me. somehow I did catch a quick shot of just his little hand holding his toes. Now, some people (Me) love this sort of thing, and others ( my Mom) wonder why I chopped the baby's head off. ( It was not a accident people!) I suppose it is a matter of taste.

The other image is one I have started doing a lot. I love it personally, but again some people think I have lost my mind!

I do consider my "style" quite untraditional. I always try to get images that I think my clients will love, but sometimes I just take a shot that I know I will love! Of course, it's a added bonus is the clients like them too.

Look, it is my sweet little model! The weather was so nice today, especially compared to last week, and I was itching to get the camera out! So when Lilly woke up from nap time, we had a mini photo shoot! I would have loved to gotten some photos of little brother too, but the strawberry applesauce he smeared in his hair would not have looked so great in pictures!!

A new year, a new post!

Smash the Cake Session!

These were shot on a very cold, snowy day, so we had to use studio lighting instead of the natural light this time.

It happens every year. Someone calls me 2 weeks before Christmas to set up an appointment to have pictures taken, that they have to have back by Christmas time to send out as gifts. Please plan ahead. Have you Christmas pictures made now and order ASAP. In order for me to guarantee that your order will be back by Christmas, you must have it placed by December 15th

Christmas Cards are 25 for $30.00. Parents and Grandparents love to get pictures of their little ones. A big canvas is a wonderful idea. I just ordered a canvas of my two little ones, for myself! This is a example of a 16x20 canvas photo. Please excuse the fact that is hanging lopsided on my wall!

I know a lot of my family has been waiting for a sneak peek of these pictures. This is my darling little neice. How cute is she?? She was not about to smile for her "Aunt Katie" but that is ok, she did not cry either! She was here with her Mommy for a vist, but is back home now. We miss you!!

Now let me add in a little plug for Fuzzi Bunz here! Fuzzi Bunz (see picture 2) are the cloth diapers that both myself, and my sister-in-law use. We love them! Not to mention they are so cute, soft, and good for the earth too!

Let me introduce 6 month old "K." She is the daughter of an old friend of mine, and I was thrilled that they brought her up for her first photo shoot! She was such a happy little girl, and seemed to enjoy having her picture made! Also take note of the new brown background. This was the first chance I had to use it, and I really liked it.

7 little ones, what fun! I'll admit it, the thought of getting more than 2 small children in a photo, always has me a little on edge, but these cutties did a really good job. We do have to give credit to the "silly" adults behind me, for the big smiles.

Sometimes it is hard to pick just a couple of images to go on my blog!

These are from a early week session. My fav being the picture of "J" with his puppy. Mom's who have children with a special lovey, if it be a doll, a blankie, or a well worn, stuffed animal, can see how much puppy means to this little guy.

There has been many dramatic times in my own home looking for a lost puppy or blankie, and one VERY, long, sleepless night when we could not find a much loved monkey.

Note to self: take some studio shots of your kids with their lovies!

Baby "M" sneak peek

Baby "M" made it in to the studio this week, and we are so glad he is feeling better! He is still pretty new to the world at 5 weeks old, and such a handsome little guy!

We even got a couple shots with big cousin "T." Enjoy!

This would be my first newborn shoot, other than my own children. He is just 3 weeks old.
I think this little guy is so cute! He is family, but his sweetness is obvious!
He, however, was not to fond of me. Big, mean, photography lady made him upset by moving him around.

Please don't hold it agianst me baby "O."

This is 2 year old "T." She has such beautiful eyes, and looks so much like her Momma that it is crazy! Her little cousin was going to come with her this morning, but the poor guy was sick. We hope you feel better soon little buddy!

Girls, girls ,girls! My studio has been full of them this week! I was lucky enough to get to photographt this 3 month old cuttie pie today.

Poor Dad had to miss out on her first photo shoot, and I know how Daddy's are about their little girls, so this sneek peak is for you Dad!

I really have a BAD case of baby fever now!
